Jain Temple in Ranakpur, Rajasthan

Ranakpur Jain Temple is one of the five major Jain pilgrimage sites, situated in Ranakpur near Sadri town of Pali district in Rajasthan. The magnificent Jain Temple is dedicated to Trithankara Adinatha. The foundation of Temple was started in 15th century by Seth Dharana Sah( a Jain businessman) with the aid of Rana Kumbha who was ruling Mewar in 15th century. The town of Ranakpur and the temple are named after the provincial ruler monarch, Rana Kumbha who supported the construction of the temple.

Temple is constructed with white marble and famous for its intricate architecture and divine creation. The whole mansion is spread over 48000 sq. feet of large area and more than 1400 exclusively carved pillars support the Temple.

Within the great walls of palatial complex several Temples are served such as Chaumukha Temple, Parsavanath Temple, Amba Mata Temple and Surya Temple. Amongst these most famous and important temple is Chaumaukha Temple- a four-faced temple dedicated to Lord Adinath the first Tirthankara of the Jains.

Ranakpur Jain Temple is located 162 km from Jodhpur and 91 km from Udaipur, in a valley on the western side of the Aravalli range. Temple is centre of attraction for tourist travellers and easily accessible from Udaipur.
