Pachmarhi Tourist Spots in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh

Panchmarhi is magnificent hill station of Madhya Pradesh state it is popular tourist destination point specially in summer season. Pachmarhi has all characteristics of scenic beauty of Nature as Waterfalls, streams, wild-life and presence of some rare species of medicinal plants has made it most picturesque tourist spot of Madhya Pradesh.

Some major destinations of Panchmarhi are :-

PANDAV CAVES - are five rock-cut temples known as Pandav Caves made in low hill and in front of this exciting monument there has been developed wonderful garden. According to legend, these caves were built by Five Pandavas of Mahabharat epic during their 13 years of excile. Caves have been hewn by Buddhist monks. Different sources mention different time of their creation, in earlier times caves were adorned with paintings. On the top of hill there have been found remnants of brick structure - Buddhist stupa.

APSARA VIHAR - this waterfall is extremely beautiful and has formed a natural pool that varies in depth from 5 to 15 feet across. This is a mountain stream that creates a beautiful natural water pool.

RAJAT PRATAP WATERFALL - it is 30th highest waterfall in India, it is horsetail types waterfall with a single drop of 107 meters. When Sun light falls on it, it sparkle like silver and so also called as silver fall. It is the most beautiful waterfall and offers breathtaking views.

BEE FALL - bee fall is most famous point where water of a perennial stream tumble down 35 meters, giving a spectacular view to visitors. It is named so because from a distance the waterfall sounds like a bee.

GUPT MAHADEV - it is a 40 feet long cave adorned idols of Lord Ganesha and Shiva lingam and at entrance idol of Lord Hanuman is placed. The path that leads to Gupt Mahadev cave goes from inside the Bade Mahadev. This narrow path can be passed only by eight people at a time.

CHAURAGARH TEMPLE - it is the second highest peak and houses site with Lord Siva's temple at the top. There is a Chauragarh fort built by the king Sangram Shah of Gond dynasty. It is also famou spot for sunrise viewing.

DHUPGARH - it is highest point of Satpura ranges and well-known for sunrise and sunset view point. It offers picturesque views of countryside.

SATPURA WILDLIFE - wildlife of Satpura includes various species such as tiger, leopard, wild boar, gaur, chital deer, muntjac deer, sambar deer, and rhesus macaques, chinkara, nilgai, wild dogs, the Indian wolf, bison, Indian giant squirrels, and flying squirrels.
