Bundi is small city in Hadoti region near Kota of Rajasthan State of India. In earlier times the area of Bundi was inhabited by various local Tribes. Bundi gets in name from a former Meena tribe man (Sardar/king) called Bunda Meena. Bundi was previously called "Bunda-Ka-Nal", Nal meaning "narrow ways". In later period the place was governed by Rao Deva Hada, who took bundi from Jaita Meena in 1342 and established the State Bundi, the surrounded area called Hadoti, the land of great Hada Rajput.

Bundi is tourist spot and famous for its intricate Palaces, splendid Forts, beautiful step-wells which are very well preserved and water tanks. The architecture of monuments depicts elegance of Royal Rajput Chiefs. The walls of the Palaces at Bundi are designed with life-size frescoes depicting the charm of the great rulers. Bundi is famous for the Kajli-Teej Festival, one should visit Bundi during the celebration of this festival.
