Qutub Minar in New Delhi

Qutub Minar is a Minaret which is a part of Qutub complex, it is heritage site located in New Delhi of India. The construction of Minar was completed in three-phase and by three Mughal emperors. Qutub Minar is 73 meters high on a base of 14.3 meter diameter and it is five storey Complex with 379 staircases of steps.

Qutb al-Din Aibak, founder of the Delhi Sultanate, started construction of the Qutub Minar's first storey around 1192. In 1220, Aibak's successor and son-in-law Iltutmish completed a further three storeys. In 1369, lightning attack damaged top storey. Firoz Shah Tughlaq replaced the damaged storey, and added one more. Qutub Minar is surrounded with many historical monuments of the Qutub Complex.
